The Adventures of Peanut, Butter, Jelly, and Banana: Family Roots and Big Questions by Mariela G. George is a delightful and imaginative tale that blends humor, curiosity, and friendship into a charming narrative. The story follows four lovable food friends, Peanut, Butter, Jelly, and Banana, as they explore their origins and learn about the importance of family roots, history, and asking questions. The book is filled with playful dialogue and whimsical moments, such as the characters singing their "feel-good" song and sharing fascinating facts about their ancestry. The book's playful tone, engaging characters, and valuable life lessons make it a memorable addition to any bookshelf and would be a perfect animated cartoon. Peanut, Butter, Jelly, and Banana need to jump out of the pages and onto the big screen. Awarded the prestigious 5-Star Badge by Readers' Favorite for excellence in children's literature.

I like that this book encourage children to be curious about their family tree. The book is colorful illustrated, and the song is adorable and fun. The word "meaning" at the back is an extra bonus.

As told by the ingredients in a most beloved children's sandwich, it brings back good memories for us all ♥️ I also love the addition of the glossary. We absolutely loved The Adventures of Peanut, Butter, Jelly, and Banana. The story is warm, imaginative and gently invites children to think about where they come from, what makes them unique, and how roots and friendship shape who we are. It’s the kind of story that opens the door to deep conversations in a light and playful way. But what truly captivated our children were the wonderfully expressive illustrations by Gergana Mladin - each page is rich with color, personality and charm. Her artwork brings the characters to life and adds so much heart to the reading experience. This book is a little treasure in our home, and we’re already looking forward to the next adventure in the series!

Very original topic for a children's book! It teaches kids where some of their favourite foods come from. I actually learnt something from it, too. The drawings are nice and there is a song, glossary and a quiz. Nice book for primary school teachers.

I read this book with a friend, and we were both deeply moved from the very first pages. It's an emotionally rich and poetic work that weaves together reality and metaphor, where every image carries psychological and social depth. The main character, Adriana Denkova, along with the people around her, is portrayed with honesty and haunting clarity. The story touches on powerful themes like domestic violence, trauma, and isolation, while also delivering a profound message about inner strength and the possibility of rebirth. Beyond its compelling content, the book is presented with remarkable professionalism, from its illustrated cover to the meticulous formatting, every detail is thoughtfully crafted, enhancing the artistic value of the reading experience. This is a book that stays with you, inviting deep reflection and empathy long after the final page.

The Faces of Unborn Butterflies is a poetic and poignant tale of trauma, resilience, and human connection. Mariela G. George masterfully blends metaphor, emotion, and social insight through the eyes of Adriana Denkova. This profound novel soars with empathy, exploring unseen wounds and the fragile beauty of becoming. A must-read for reflective, heart-driven readers.
